This weekend will be the anniversary of the Katrina Hurricane. This morning, this topic was discussed on C-Span and I was disgusted. My fellow Americans called in complaining about individuals who had suffered in New Orleans wanting to rebuild. Many individuals called in and stated that there was no reason to rebuild New Orleans and that for 100 years people had been stupid to want to live there. This was an obvious example of American ignorance and our lack of historical education in public schools. New Orleans after all was an essential part of America throughout 300 years of history . The callers also illustrated their lack of kindness and empathy for individuals who had lacked assistance and homes after losing their family members and living in squalor and unhealthy conditions while enduring tragedy. All the callers could discuss was their tax dollars. God help us all.

Hasn't anyone else noticed that every single news station and radio talk show over the past few days has only been focused on the story regarding Mr. Vick and his puppy abuse? I mean, we don't worry about the killing of innocent women and children in Iraq or young American troops losing their limbs. We could care less about that. But, we must always discuss canine abuse and it isn't even a partisan issue.
